We have a number of WPM transactions that display values in the Top 10 Transactions by Duration and the Top 10 Steps by Duration that are over 100 percent and as high as 530 percent. Is it possible for me to have an explanation of what these values mean as it relates to administration of this tool. The WPM / Orion documentation does not offer as much information as I would like although it is helpful. Is there an association with the player load percentage which is very high. Note these values do go down over time between transaction execution. I have a block of windows servers that have players for url's only and another block for transactions only. (a typical transaction may be 5 to 10 steps) What are other users experiences with how much to load on payer agents? Your feed back would be much appreciated.

I want to monitor Skype for Business services. Just basic connectivity, is it up or down. Any thing additional would be groovy.
I have SAM and WPM, but I believe WPM would be the tool for this since this since it is web based.

How do I view past TCP Waterfall Charts?
Hi all,
I'm very new to WPM. Installed, configured, and set up a couple simple recordings. I can see the TCP Waterfall Chart in the "step details" per recording, but it appears that is just the most recent transaction/recording. Where do I go, or how do I view the historical Waterfall transactions?
I am currently running NPM 11.5.2, and WPM 2.2.1

WPM Recorder: Waits for Google Analytics
Hi,
I am trying to record a application and it seems it takes nearly 30 seconds for google analytics code to download which is causing the overall transaction end up in a higer rate. Any suggestions/ work around to fix this.

Installing WPM trial removed my dashboard
Has anyone else experienced this issue? We tried installing the WPM trail version and lost "My Dashboard" from the tab. Talked to tech support and they have never seen this issue.

WPM Monitoring External Web Sites (Architecture Discussion)
We have roughly 24 customer facing web sites in our DMZ. We plan to use an external data center (a few servers) to deploy the WPM players; to monitor the customer experience.
** In our Orion infrastructure we have 8 pollers and a dedicated database server (internally).
I need to understand what and how the payload [(externally from the players), (metrics, other)] gets back to the database (internally).
A player by default listens on port 17781 [server initiated]. Port 17782 is used when you configure for Player initiated.
Question: What does this communication contain [server initiated]?
Same question for Player initiated?
Question: Would the player (in our case 8 polllers) communicate with Poller One exclusively?
My concern is securing this connection external to internal as tightly as I can. I am curious as to how you guys are doing this.
What am I overlooking and should be concerned with in the context of security?

Adding a Windows user for WPM transaction - impact on other transactions?
I'm trying to add a transaction to monitor a website that authenticates via Oracle SSO via the NT user auth in the browser. Normally the end user is already logged into the domain on his/her workstation; IE passes this authentication to the Oracle SSO server, and is then redirected to the Oracle web application (E-Business Suite). When I try to record the transaction it picks up my authentication and uses it as expected but I'd like to use a dedicated dummy account for the routine playing of this transaction.
While researching how to get WPM to authenticate to Windows before playing the transaction, I ran across references to the SolarWinds.SEUM.AgentDomainConfigurationTool.exe utility. I'm loathe to test this without some additional information (I can't find much on what this actually does - I don't see references to this utility in WPM documentation, just in some older SEUM documentation like this SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: Configuring Domain Accounts for SEUM worker processes
First, it requires me to add 2 domain accounts. I can't enter just the one dummy account I want to use for this Oracle SSO transaction. Second, there doesn't seem to be a way to specify which if any of these accounts should be used when playing back a transaction.
Will other existing transaction start to use these Windows credentials and start failing? Is there something I've missed in any documentation anywhere? Any other advice on how to configure a transaction that will auth to AD and then pass that into the player to test SSO redirection?

Doing my research and could not find if WPM can automatically check all links and images are working on a particular website. I have found plenty of online tools though, but I was just wondering if I have missed it in WPM? If you do check for broken links and images - I would love to hear how? ... especially how do you automate this process and escalate any alerts to webmasters

Re-assign a managed transaction to a different playback location?
Question,
Is there a way to simply re-assign or 'move' a managed transaction monitor from one playback location to another? I ask because I can see running into a situation where a player load starts to reach capacity and I'll need to move a transaction from one location to another to relieve the stress.
Take this situation for example:
- I am currently monitoring a transaction against Google.com.
- The player load is approaching 70% on the server where the Google.com transaction is running.

- So I want to 'move' one transaction monitor to another location (in the case of the screenshot above, that would be QA #2) without losing the historical monitoring data.
So far what I've discovered is that I would need to assign the Google.com monitor to the QA2 location first (effectively 'duplicating' the monitor to another location) then delete the monitor from QA1 to free up resources.
The problem with doing this is that once you delete a monitor from SolarWinds all of it's historical data is deleted from the SQL database as well. So I don't want to delete the monitor because there may be very good polling data that we would need for reporting and historical reasons. Instead I would prefer to 'move' the monitor from one poller to another to relieve stress on the system. We can do this in SolarWinds NPM and SAM where you can change your polling engine. So I am hoping it is possible to do the same with this product.
So, is it possible to move transactions from one location to another without deleting them?

Orion Agents on Azure - minimums?
Hello,
What is the minimum spec that I can use to run an Orion agent on Azure? Ideally I would be able to just run this on PaaS setup and not a dedicated VM. I am doing relatively light testing with the agent (a couple of multi-step web checks to be precise). I would love to just say "New, Solarwinds Agent" up on Azure, but only the DB monitoring tool seems to be up there.
The googling I have done has led me to pretty thin answers around hosting an agent up on Azure. No details, nothing. For instance: Automatically deploy a Windows agent on Microsoft Azure
Note that I am a user of WPM, not an Orion Admin. I also happen to run our Azure cloud, and am looking to make it hum.

WPM: Cookies? MFA?
We have an application being hit from an on-prem poller that requires mutli-factor authentication (MFA) the first time a user logs in.
We did this manually on poller then recorder works on poller without needing MFA again.
However, when we set up the polling from this poller through WPM it wants the MFA again as if the cookies are not being stored or it is a different "browser" than what the recorder uses.
Any ideas on how to get this working without requiring a process that has to do the MFA every time we poll?

Transaction Alert setup for when a transaction goes down or is not reachable
Hi all,
I need some help with the WPM as I want to setup alerting and monitoring for a website hosted externally with a third part to monitor when the website goes up and down.
I have recorded a transaction which basically has the steps of browsing to the web address and then going through a couple of sub-pages within the website. I am trying to set up alerting for this transaction so that I know when the website goes down.
But when I go into alerting module and set up the trigger condition for the transaction status is equal to down or anything else except UP for that matter, the object from my object list disappears as if the trigger condition of anything other than UP is not compatible. Has this happened to anyone else. How do you get around it?

WPM cookie based authentication
I have website that require authentication to access it. While monitoring through WPM the playback show the website down since it cannot get past this authentication. I have tried to use domain account using domain configuration tool but it is giving me error as in my other post here WPM Domain Account Configuration Tool .... I did not find any solutions for this. So i want to know if it is possible to get this done with cookie based authentication. If it is possible how can i achieve this in solarwinds. I really need to get this up and running to monitor the website. Any help would be appreciated.

Intermittent long connection times
I have multiple players that are intermittently showing VERY long connection times during the playback of the transaction. Here is the view of the TCP waterfall chart...
As you can see - the connection is the ONLY thing that is killing the timeline of this transaction. Has anyone ever dealt with an issue like this?
